How the scholarship winners are chosen:
The Executive Committee of the Homewood High School PTO chooses the two winners. There will be a male and a female winner. If a member of the executive committee has a Senior who has applied for the scholarship, she or he must recuse themselves from voting. The executive committee will choose another PTO member to fill that open spot. HHS Guidance Counselors will be solicited for feedback to ensure we have a true sense of the contributions of the students selected.
Timeframe: The PTO begins taking scholarship applications in April with the two students chosen prior to the Senior Awards ceremony.
