- SAT, May 4th - We Love Homewood Day! Events include the Annual 5K, Pep Rally and Central Park activities, the Parade, and the downtown Edgewood Block Party. Little Donkey is the headline sponsor and they are offering to feed any Homewood City School student who runs (or walks) the 5K! "Any Homewood student can bring your race bib in on the day of the race for a meal on usâ€...Thanks, Little Donkey!
***GRADE-LEVEL ANNOUNCEMENTS*** 11th - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to coordinate the Senior class Baccalaureate Reception immediately following the 3pm Baccalaureate service on Sunday, May 19th. If you are interested in helping, please contact Rachel Stone or Michelle Crim:
12th - - Friday, May 3rd - RSVP for Senior Picnic and Baccalaureate Reception by sending your $25 payment (see payment details in THINGS TO KNOW section under Parent-Sponsored events below)
Friday, May 10th - Graduation Cap & Gown orders will be handed to students during 5th period. Friday, May 17th - Graduation tickets will be given to students AFTER Awards Day. - PARENT-SPONSORED GRADUATION EVENTS - Please visit the SENIORS 2019 section of the PTO website for information regarding other graduation events and HHS traditions.
- Senior Picnic - follows Awards Day on Wed, May 17th (Please note date change)
- Baccalaureate Reception - immediately following the 3pm Baccalaureate Service on Sunday, May 19th. (New this year...Junior class parents will coordinate the reception)
- THINGS TO KNOW -
- These events are planned and executed by parents - not the school or PTO.
- A committee of parents is needed to plan these two events. We want everyone who would like to participate to have an opportunity to do so. All are welcome!

There is no financial assistance from HHS for these events, so we greatly appreciate everyone’s contribution. The cost for both of these events is $25 per student - due by Friday, May 3rd. Venmo is preferred @Tracy-Thornton-11. If paying by cash or check (made out to Tracy Thornton), please place your payment in an envelope with your student’s name & place it in the collection box at the front office at HHS. Payments may also be mailed to:Tracy Thornton 526 Durham Drive Homewood, AL 35209 Your payment will be your RSVP to both the picnic & reception.
***COLLEGE & CAREER*** NEW information and events are being added to the links weekly! The times they are a changin'! - The Friday prior to spring break the back stairwell (behind the library) was shut down. It will remain closed for the duration of the project.
- Plans remain in place to close the Bailey Theatre, the science pod, and the cooking and serving areas in the cafeteria by the afternoon of April 26th.
- Click HEREfor the official word from HHS on cafeteria changes and food service plans.
- Closing these areas will hopefully maximize opportunities for MJ Harris to complete this portion of the renovations by the start of next school year.
