This Week 

  • FRIDAY, Mar 22nd - DEADLINE for HHS Student Ambassador Patriot Pride applications. Click HERE for details like qualifications, dates and the application link.

Looking Ahead

  • NO SCHOOL the week of March 25th - 29th.  Have a fun, safe Spring Break. See you back on April 1st! (No joke.)
  • Through the End of March - The Menagerie, the school's literary arts magazine, is taking submissions. Students should ask their English teachers for submission forms.
  • DEADLINE April 1st - Teachers...Help us, help you! The PTO wants to assist you in meeting your needs for the classroom.  You will find a PTO Classroom Grant Application link in your Schoology communication from Dr. Esslinger. 
  • MAY 4th - Alabama STEM Expose at the Birmingham Crossplex.  Entry areas include science, robotics and arts. For more information and to register an entry click HERE.

 

***GRADE-LEVEL ANNOUNCEMENTS***

11th - 

  • DEADLINE March 18th to register for this event!!! - Jacksonville State University will host its 18th Annual Emerging Leaders’ Day on April 4th, 2019. Students will hear from a nationally-recognized motivational speaker, participate in leadership activities and speak with JSU student leaders about college life. There will be a chance to earn prizes, as well as a scholarship giveaway for the JSU’s Emerging Leaders' Scholarship for the 2020-21 academic year. Homewood High School can nominate two Juniors (Class of 2020 to attend with an excused school event absence.   • SOMETHING YOU PERHAPS DID NOT KNOW: The population of Homewood was 26,196 as of July 1, 2018.  With a size of only 8.36 sq miles, that makes our fair city the 2nd most densely populated city in Alabama! (Behind Fairfield. Because. Curious.)

  • SOMETHING YOU PERHAPS DID KNOW: We are going nowhere fast on this construction thing. Mother Nature is not cooperating.
