INFORMED . *School-Wide Announcements* This Week - NO SCHOOL for students. Period. Happy Thanksgiving!
- FRIDAY the 23rd- Patriots advance in the state football playoffs after their Round 2 win over Gardendale. Homewood will host Pinson Valley 7pm at Waldrop Stadium for the 6A Quarterfinals. The band, et al will still be on the road back from NYC, so the voice of every cheering fan will count! If you are in town, BE THERE!
Looking Ahead
- Nov 28th - "E-Cigs and Vapes" - Parenting program sponsored by the Safe & Healthy Homewood Coalition, presented by John Stone. 11:30am-1:00pm, at the Homewood Board of Education
- Dec 21st - DEADLINE to purchase a yearbook. It can be done ONLINE, or send money to the attention of Melissa Dameron-Vines. After winter break, the only opportunity to buy a yearbook will be after distribution day in the spring on a first-come, first-served basis for the few extras that remain.
*Grade-Level Announcements*
10th, 11th & 12th - - DEADLINE - Dec 7th for the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA)
- The RYLA Program is an intensive leadership training program for high school students, sponsored by Rotary International, and conducted by the Local Rotary Districts on a regional basis.
- The North Alabama RYLA Program partners with the US Space and Rocket Center to sponsor a three-day event (Jan 24th - 26th) consisting of lectures and discussions with skilled and prominent leaders, group and team building activities, leadership training, fellowship, good food, and of course a MINI-SPACE CAMP!

12th - ***CONSTRUCTION CORNER*** Bulldozers are visible. The only thing that can be said for sure is that
they have taken up several different positions within the dirt field.
